FICTIONAL CASE STUDY
Context: While individuals and companies are getting increasingly knowledgeable about recycling, they are less aware of other steps applicable before recycling.
Challenges: During my research, I found some businesses are not aware of the significant effect of waste reduction and recycling efforts on their waste management costs. The goal was to create an interactive microlearning providing easy, actionable steps to employees and business leaders alike.
Solutions: This course can be completed in less than 10 minutes exploring each of the 5 R's (refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and recycle). It introduces the four actions that should be taken, if possible, prior to 'recycling' and provides actionable steps to implement them into a business' waste reduction and recycling program.
Results: The intended outcome is for businesses to minimize landfill waste and waste management costs, as well as increase their sustainability practices.
